The purpose of this convening is to expand a shared agenda to radically transform the landscape of health and healing in Minnesota.
One of the emergent questions from the convening in October 2025 was: who’s missing? This vision is a shared commitment and belongs to everyone who believes that health and healing must care for us ALL. We hold multiple truths: this is a heightened time of structural violence, and structural violence is not new.
Across 15 hours together, we will develop collective power and sharpen our shared agenda through mutual dreaming and broad wisdom. Bring what you know. Bring the people who belong in the room.
We will expand key topics and invite new ideas:
- Lessons learned from care amidst occupation.
- A people’s research project.
- Recommendations for resourcing the rural landscape.
- Dissenting against carceral care systems.
- Time to discuss emergent topics folks bring into the space.
On-site childcare, coffee, breakfast snacks, and lunch will be provided (including food-sensitive options).
The building is ADA accessible, will remain locked during the convening, and will be staffed by Sequeerity, LLC.
All HRC events require masking.
Why: In the United States, healthcare is a system that extracts wealth, reinforces violence, excludes people, and creates debt. This long-standing onslaught, coupled with recent policy shifts, has escalated the need to come together and respond. The US healthcare system is not broken–it is working exactly as it was designed. These days of even greater need escalate—rather than diminish—the need to continue the long arc work of dreaming and building toward the health and healing frameworks we know can exist.
Who: This event calls people committed to reimagining and building alternatives to the current healthcare system. This includes:
• Healthcare workers and practitioners seeking liberatory approaches
• Organizers, abolitionists, and health communists
• Healers, street medics, birthworkers, and healing justice practitioners
• Policy visionaries and anyone reimagining healthcare from the ground up.
When:
Friday, March 13th 10 am-5 pm
Saturday, March 14th 9am-3pm with a Social Hour from 3pm-4pm
