March Meal Details
2025 is a pivotal year, holding the tension of necessary reactivity and maintenance of baseline protections with the tangible reality that another world is possible. Embracing this tension, we are pairing monthly Political Pedagogy with bimonthly Strategy Hours and leaning into thematic aspects of healthcare transformation. From March to December, we invite everyone – from the curious to the invested – to join us as we collectively learn and push to transform the landscape of health and healing in Minnesota.
Come be fed and share space with other folks working to transform the landscape of health and healing in Minnesota.

2025 Story Arc
2025 is a pivotal year, holding the tension of necessary reactivity and maintenance of baseline protections with the tangible reality that another world is possible. Embracing this tension, we are pairing monthly Political Pedagogy with bimonthly Strategy Hours and leaning into thematic aspects of healthcare transformation. From March to December, we invite everyone – from the curious to the invested – to join us as we collectively learn and push to transform the landscape of health and healing in Minnesota.

STRATEGY HOUR: What’s the buzz?
The top of the month starts with a virtual Strategy Hour as a drop-in time for folks from all backgrounds to collectively share and strategize about what is happening in their communities related to health and healing. Facilitation is minimal and organic. These are an action-oriented time to workshop ongoing issues and build relationships. Strategy Hours hold the necessary reactivity to counteract the reinvested violence of this moment.
POLITICAL PEDAGOGY: Another world is possible.
Political Pedagogy is then a facilitated time to hold the truth – that another world is possible. These two-hour hybrid sessions use joyful arts-based activities to tackle complex visioning in playful ways. Contrasting a classroom, sessions are curated as a collaborative workshop in the practice of a pedagogy that values the method of collective wisdom and processed learning. Each session asks participants to cultivate an action to bring back to their community as a method of dissemination and power building.
STRATEGY HOUR: There is more to care.
The second Strategy Hour is again a virtual drop-in time for folks from all backgrounds to collectively share and strategize about what is happening in their communities related to health and healing. Additionally, this is time for folks who attended Political Pedagogy to extend joy and action to address present and arising issues in the health and healing landscape.

The first Political Pedagogy of the year will extend the Political Pedagogy session from Intention Setting Week. Come decide the theme for the monthly sessions of 2025!
Political Pedagogy is an offering of the Cooperative and is how we frame political education. The goal of Political Pedagogy is to provide a joyful space to create a shared language for this work, playfully learn from each other and those who have contributed to work before us, and collectively dream into healthcare that doesn't harm. The monthly session themes for Political Pedagogy are set by members and non-members at the top of the year during Intention Setting Week.
Last year's monthly topics were:
Cooperative Positionality and Accountability
Land Healing: Environmental Justice and Healthcare
Narrative Healing: Storytelling Within and Around the MIC
Queering Healing: Intersectional Approaches to Health
From Public Health to Public Healing: Disability Justice
Future Healing: Dreaming of Black Joy in Health
Lineage Healing: Ancestral Care in Health
Economic Healing: Capitalism and the MIC
Reparative Healing: Reparations Project Update

A note from the mover: We will juxtapose the present and historical legacy of ableism in health spaces with the explicit commitment to centering disability justice in movements for liberation.
Hadija is a physically able-bodied person and will invite group engagement on the role of solidarity in this work.

Some youth and adult shares from the Political Pedagogy session May 29th 2024.
Participants responded to the prompt:
• Think of an existing health[care] story or narrative that you want to change or a new one that you want to tell.
• Reflect on the components of a story and a plot. Using the medium of your choice, tell the story.
After time to create a response in a chosen medium, participants told the story of how they would change the narrative of health[care].
How would you respond to this prompt? Share in the comments.

From the movers...
We want to hold a space to talk about land, environmental justice, and positionality. The main goal of the session is to provide a collective storytelling-like session that lets folks reflect on responsibilities around land, closeness with place, and the nuances around settling, migration, and the way we engage with land. This is meant to be a generative space for co-creating context around the history and the role we have in our respective communities.
Both facilitators are not interested in posing as “experts”, as we expect everyone to show up with their own expertise of their lived experiences, as well as complex histories and thoughtfulness around land, EJ and so much more.
