A note from the mover: We will juxtapose the present and historical legacy of ableism in health spaces with the explicit commitment to centering disability justice in movements for liberation.
Hadija is a physically able-bodied person and will invite group engagement on the role of solidarity in this work.

In Liberated Health and Healing
Some youth and adult shares from the Political Pedagogy session May 29th 2024.
Participants responded to the prompt:
• Think of an existing health[care] story or narrative that you want to change or a new one that you want to tell.
• Reflect on the components of a story and a plot. Using the medium of your choice, tell the story.
After time to create a response in a chosen medium, participants told the story of how they would change the narrative of health[care].
How would you respond to this prompt? Share in the comments.

From the movers...
We want to hold a space to talk about land, environmental justice, and positionality. The main goal of the session is to provide a collective storytelling-like session that lets folks reflect on responsibilities around land, closeness with place, and the nuances around settling, migration, and the way we engage with land. This is meant to be a generative space for co-creating context around the history and the role we have in our respective communities.
Both facilitators are not interested in posing as “experts”, as we expect everyone to show up with their own expertise of their lived experiences, as well as complex histories and thoughtfulness around land, EJ and so much more.

Session 5: 2024 Reparations Project
This brainstorming session will hold space for folks to dream into what a campaign for healthcare reparations could look like in 2024. In Public Health
Genocide is a tactical move to eliminate a population. Destroying public health infrastructure is one tactic to spread disease and end life. This framework puts public health as a distant mechanized system that lacks human attributes, cannot be improved, and isn't relational.
What does public healing as it relates to public health mean to you?
How might implementing a public healing framework empower greater movements for solidarity?
What public health systems are a part of your daily life that you don't notice anymore?
What healing do you need to feel whole in times of immense crisis?
